Schools Close In Philly
On Tuesday I was watching the weather and they were saying that these "extreemly" cold temps are unseasonable for philly. They said that this is the kind of weather they usually get in Jan. Just to make sure I hadn't missed something I looked out my window, nope, still no snow. Then they proceeded to explain that temperatures would be droping down to
-10 and maybe even -15 degrees (I've converted into Celceus) They then announced that due to the cold weather the following schools would be closed on Wed and proceeded to list 3 schools! I couldn't beleive it. I just thought I would share the laughs with those of you who have walked to school in -30 and -40 with the wind chill. :-) Silly people, they don't even know cold!

Grandma Tiffany Yes, I remember walking 5 miles to school in -40 with a wind blowing out of the north at 100 miles an hour! We wrapped our feet in old newspapers because we didn't have any boots!
Auntie Patty: Yes, I remember walking to school in -45 with the wind blowing so hard we had to put rocks in our pockets to weight us down. This was after we did our chores in the morning and gathered in all the firewood for the day and fed all the animals. The ice was 3 inches thick on the pond and we had to take turns digging through with a butter knife just so we could have a drink. Shirley always made me carry all her books for her and I had to break the trail through the snow and she would follow. She got the newspapers for boots, but I had nothing......
Auntie Tracey: What kind of terrible mother did you have?? Such a sad, sad story!
