Dewsberry + Wall = STUBBORN
Whenever we clean up the house Liza gets jobs to do, and usually she is a pretty good helper. Yesterday however, she showed us a little of what she is “Made Of”. Her job was to pick up the Crayons that she had dumped on the floor earlier when she was coloring. She didn’t think that she should have to do this and tried every trick in the book to get out of it. “Mommy, you do it.” “Mommy help please.” She even at one point chose to sit in time out rather then clean it up. For the first 20 mins or so I kept trying to get her to pick them up, with threats and the like, but nothing was working so I just made it very clear that she was to do nothing else until she did her job. TWO HOURS and FIFTEEN MINUETS Later She picked up her crayons. In that two hours, the crayons were ½ in the bucket over 4 times, they were used as drumsticks, and as the insides of her bucket maraca. She kept herself busy in that time and even took two potty breaks. Just a little Stubborn!

Take a chill pill

Today they forcasted snow for us here in Philly. Since the last storm we had immobilized the city for hours, everyone freaked out! Schools announced early close. Most schools were out by 1:00, and the snow didn’t even start until 1:30! It snowed about 6 inches and will be 40 degrees F tomorrow and every school is closed! It is supposed to be 60 by Sunday. People get a little excited about snow here, to say the very least. I don’t think that this storm is any worse then what we see all year at home, but it caused very serious multiple car accidents! I think everyone here just needs to learn how to slow down in every sense of the word!

Stroller pushers Beware:
Today I saw why there are signs on escalators that tell you not to take your stroller on the escalators. We went to the mall and there was a little girl about Liza’s age, in an umbrella stroller with her leg stuck in the escalator. The only way that I can figure it, her mom must have started to go up the down and before she turned the stroller around the little girl must have got her foot in the place where the handle goes down underneath. Her leg was into that hole up to about her knee and she was still in her stroller. By the looks of things, I can’t imagine that she didn’t have any broken bones. It was very scary! I think that for a while I will be using the elevators.
